Criserl : New upload!

Hello everyone!

Finally, I found time to make a new video and blog. I have just finished one week of intensive examinations and there is a week break before the next few papers. So, I decided to make a video :)

This is the first ever Haydn Sonata I've ever played. This piece is actually quite technically demanding due to the frequent turns and trills in the 1st movement. Before this recording, I did try for an hour a week ago to record, but I didn't manage to get a satisfactory recording.

I used to listen to Richter play this piece and I thought his playing was perfect! In this recording, I chose to not use any pedals throughout as firstly, there are no pedal markings for this piece in my scores and secondly, I do believe that Haydn would prefer this piece on the dry side to draw the emphasis on those ornaments - the turns and trills rather than having the lines all muddy and unclear.

I was taught that Haydn was a guy full of humor so, I tried to add my own interpretation to make this piece sound fun and not just the usually sonata. Also, I skipped the repeat section as if I had repeated the piece it would be about 6 mins and it would take a long time to get it on YouTube, considering the fact that it took me 40 mins to upload this :X

Again, this time there were mistakes in the editing process as towards the end, the credits section should have been removed but my friend who helped me edited this forgot to remove it. Sorry about that.

I hope you enjoy listening to my playing.
Do come back for more updates,
Love,
Criserl
